President’s Perspective
| "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV) Thank the Lord. Even though we live in troubled times, He is still in control. He has plans for us that include a future resting place with Him in the house he's prepared. There was an overwhelming amount of news in the last month. Terrorists are still trying to kill us, an earthquake killed over a hundred thousand in Haiti, abortion was highlighted with another anniversary of the ROE v WADE decision, and a Senate race in Massachusetts brought a screeching halt to a runaway train in our congress. There's a lot of work to be done to help with these situations and the countless others that are less well covered by the media. The Lord wants us to have a servant's heart and there are certainly plenty of opportunities to serve. Yet, we need to make time to plug along with school. For, the most important thing we can do is to continue to raise these children that God has entrusted to us. SCCHE has had some great successes this year. Two areas, for example, continue to draw more people than ever. The M&M meetings and the High School events are very satisfying to those who attend. These aren't the only two, as many things are contributing to an exciting year for SCCHE. We're still getting new members joining even though there's less than half of this school year left. Many of them are really happy to find a good support group, which I'm glad to see. This group does a lot of things. The things we do can only be successful if parents take the time to get involved in an event. So, I want to thank those of you who are showing up to serve this group. Without your service, we'd cease to exist. There's plenty to get involved in with SCCHE. If you are interested in something, please help it out. SCCHE can always continue to be better with more helpers. I pray that God will bless each of you and your families and keep you safe. Your servants in Christ, George and Dee |

S.T.A.R.
| Another fun session of STAR is underway! You might think it's too soon to start planning for STAR 2011. Actually, the planning and preparation for STAR goes on nearly all year long (even in the summer!). It's NOT too early to list class ideas and to start praying about your involvement as a lead teacher. STAR's success as a co-op program is mostly due to the variety of class options we can offer - and that depends on volunteers willing to share their talents and passions with children. Won't you commit this program to prayer, and let us know if you feel led to teach a class? **Our STAR Open House will be held on the evening of the last day of STAR (March 9th). All SCCHE members and their guests are invited to come and see examples of the fun things we've done! In addition to display tables, we'll also have performances by our Christian Dance classes and our Theater classes. |
